Client Focus
While I serve a variety of clients, the people who typically find my services the most valuable are…
- Faith-based Individuals and Families
Before they come to SageOak®, many of my Christian clients struggle to get their finances, investments, and overall stewardship aligned with biblical principles. They tend to experience confusion, stress, shame, unfulfillment, and a genuine lack of true financial peace.
At SageOak, I provide biblical financial life planning that is clear, understandable, and effective. This helps Christians align their finances to biblical principles.
And when they do, they make wiser decisions that lead to greater contentment, fulfillment, and ultimately, have an eternal impact on their family, church, community, and God’s Kingdom.
Professional Experience
For 30 years, I have focused on removing financial uncertainty by bringing financial order to people’s lives.
Most recently, I operated as a managing partner and CFO for over 10 years at Seasons Financial Group, LLC, an independent financial services firm. Seasons merged with SageOak Financial, LLC in January 2022 and now operates as a “sister” brand/tradename of SageOak.
As an owner and Financial Advisor at SageOak/Seasons, I oversee faith-based and investing initiatives at our firm and help craft financial and “Living Season” plans for our clients.
I use my business versatility gained in a wide range of experiences as an accountant, manager, and business owner to bring expertise to you in a wide variety of financial situations.
As an example, I grew up on a farm that raised a wide variety of crops and livestock. I apply this guiding principle of diversification to help manage investment risk for clients.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, I help bring order to your investments, retirement, taxes, insurance, estate plan, and cash flow so you will have fewer worries about your overall financial plan.
As a Certified Kingdom Advisor®, I serve you with biblical financial advice on how to best meet the goals God has given you in being a steward of the finances entrusted to you. This can give you assurance that your plan is in line with your faith and values.
I’m a graduate of Oral Roberts University and completed the master’s level CFP® coursework at the College of Financial Planning.
I’m also an active member of and host a study group for Kingdom Advisors and have taught continuing education classes for CPAs.
Personal Background
Although I grew up on a farm in rural Kentucky, I’ve been in the Tulsa area since attending and graduating college from Oral Roberts University.
Over the years I have served as an elder, deacon, treasurer, teacher, and worship leader for my local church.
I have also served on the boards of various local not-for-profit organizations, coached numerous youth basketball teams, and coached people to discover their purpose in life through the ministry of Your One Degree.
My wife and I have 5 children and 7 grandchildren (so far) and my personal interests include photography, remodeling and woodworking projects, and serving in the worship band at our local church.
